Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

As a continuation to our employee benefit scheme all Wyre employees have been provided a free gym membership to help maintain a healthy balance of work, personal life and have the ability to take flexible breaks to exercise.

The benefits of regular exercise to physical and mental health are undisputed, Wyre recognise that the demands of our industry can sometimes be challenging and involve periods of travel, antisocial working hours and pressurised environments.

We already have some great suggestions for lunch break fitness challenges and some healthy competition emerging across the office, stay tuned for an update.

On the Run – Its Nearly Marathon Time for Frazer

Wyre Solutions Operations Director, Frazer Doe will be running this years Asics Manchester Marathon on April 7th to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Frazer is no stranger to endurance fundraisers with the Three Peaks Challenge, Brecon Beacons Trekfest (56 mile hike in 24 hours) and Birmingham Velo (100 mile road cycle) already under his belt.

“So far this has been the toughest of all of the challenges I have taken part in, the achievement and funds raised for such a great cause will be well worth the effort. With just under four weeks until the big day I’m well on track to achieve my sub 4 hour goal and continue to raise as much money as possible.

Thank you to everybody that has supported me so far and I appreciate any future donations. Since I decided to do the Marathon in August 2018 sadly my Nan has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment, for me this further highlights the importance of raising awareness and raising money to help eliminate cancer for good.”

Supporting young people to start their career in IT

Eleanor Burrows enrolled on a pre-apprenticeship course with LMPQ in September 2018 after completing a Business Administration apprenticeship in Stourport. Having experienced working in an IT environment, Eleanor was keen to start a career in IT. Eleanor was the only female in a cohort of 24 school-leavers and she was the first candidate to secure an offer of employment to progress on to a Level 3 IT Infrastructure Technician. Eleanor is now a third of the way through her apprenticeship with Wyre Solutions, a software support company in Kidderminster.

“Joining LMPQ as a Level 3 Infrastructure Apprentice has been really exciting and fulfilling for me, the support to find a placement was amazing, so much so I found a placement before I had even signed up to the pre-apprenticeship. The 8-week pre-app has been really insightful and informative to the IT industry & working in general. I have been lucky enough to get an amazing placement at Wyre Solutions and as an apprentice I could not ask for a better company to work for. The 8 weeks may seem like a long time, however, it goes very quickly & you make new friends, learn new skills and it also prepares you for the course & for the placement you will hopefully secure at the end of the 8 weeks!”

LMPQ offers a unique route into employment via our 8-week pre-apprenticeship programme which helps support our candidates through the transition from the classroom to the workplace. The course covers key work-based skills such as team-working and business communications, along with the fundamentals of IT hardware, software and networking. They will also attend 2 days of sector related work experience. Upon completing the pre-apprenticeship candidates will progress into employment as an IT Apprentice.

Wyre Solutions Expands into North America

Wyre Solutions have appointed two new staff as it sets its sights on expansion into the US.

In a key managerial move, Michael J Giambra has been appointed as Chief Development Officer at Wyre Solutions LLC heralding company’s expansion to the United States. In the Kidderminster office, Frazer Doe has been promoted to the role of Operations Director where he will lead business development and client support.

Michael has worked in the IFS arena for over five years, mainly with North American clients and will be responsible for growing sales and developing Wyre Solutions footprint in the US. “I’m very enthusiastic about joining Wyre Solutions, being given the chance to continue the success and growth already accomplished over the past 7 years in Europe and bring it to North America, is a once in a lifetime opportunity”.

The two new appointments represent further investment by Managing Director, Paul Maybury who started the company in 2011. He has since expanded the consultancy taking the employed workforce to 17 in addition to many contractors, more than tripled turnover over the past three years, as well as setting up the new company in America. Plans are already underway to establish operations in Asia to better serve a growing global client base.

Due to Paul’s ongoing success, he has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 UK, which recognises his passion and commitment to the local economy and highlights his achievements since starting Wyre Solutions 7 years ago.

Paul said: We strive to deliver the best quality services and support to our clients, so to see how strong the impact on our investment has been tremendous. I am incredibly lucky to have attracted the right team to help us drive our plans forward and expand both in the UK and the US.

“Both Michael and Frazer’s expertise will be vital as we look to make further investments and improvements for our clients in the years ahead. It’s an exciting new chapter which will see us expand our worldwide footprint which already spans 700 locations, across 20 countries, on four continents.”

Wyre Solutions say “On your Bike” to the Big C!

Paul Maybury (MD) & Frazer Doe (Operations Manager) took part in the 100 mile cycle race on Sunday with Kevin Giddins.

With donations coming in from Wyre’s clients, colleagues, family & friends, together they raised over £1000 for Birmingham’s QE Hospital, Fighting Skin Cancer Charity, in memory of Becky Giddins, wife & friend who sadly lost her battle to skin cancer this time last year after 3 cancer blows and 7 years of treatment!

“Over the last few years through the many fundraisers and challenges we’ve done we have raised over £30,000, Velo will be a tough one but let’s be honest we’ve all been through a lot worse” Said Kevin.

“As hard as it was, we’re so proud to help such a good course and want to thank everyone for their donations & support” Paul quoted

They finished the 100 mile slog in 7:30:49 hours.

New Senior Management Team Appointment

Wyre Solutions are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Gunn to the Board as Business Change Director.

Jim brings many years of director level experience in IT, Operations and Change Management in large household name companies and also a Partner in an Actuarial practice. He has directed complex programs with budgets in excess of £600m, been actively involved in mergers and acquisitions and has comprehensive experience of outsourcing from both sides of the fence.

Jim’s experience will help us build on sound foundations, further develop strong relationships with our customers and partners and to play a key role in driving our growth strategy.

Dedicated Office Aids Wyre Solutions Expansion

Almost 4 years to the day of inception, Wyre Solutions have expanded in to dedicated office space to facilitate the next phase in the evolution of the business and provision of  independent IFS consultancy services.

Managing Director, Paul Maybury explains;

“After setting up Wyre Solutions Limited as a one man consultancy business back in 2011, I am overwhelmed at how far we have come in such a short space of time. Moving forward, the office allows us to grow in three key areas detailed below, some of which has been driven by customer demand and will allow us to maintain our high standards in delivering independent IFS business solutions.”

Training and Workshop Facility – In the fast paced IFS market place we acknowledge how vital it is to keep up to date with the latest versions of the software and changes in functionality, we now have dedicated break out space to provide one-on-one and group training sessions for customers and staff.

Independent IFS Service Desk – Officially being launched in August, our service desk allows us to provide structured, technical and functional support for our customers on a flexible basis.

In addition to the post go-live support offerings we see increased demand for a fully outsourced day to day IFS support function, freeing up internal resource to carry out upgrades and system customisations, therefore up-skilling staff and keeping vital knowledge within the business.

Collaboration – The past 12 months has seen our business effectively transition from a group of consultants to an organised consultancy business. Being able to collaborate more easily with other team members and business partners not only allows us to share experience’s and problem solve it has created a fantastic environment to grow new talent with the Wyre Solutions ethos.
